The controller of the Cryomec CPA28xx compressor sends two extra bytes
with the reply to WRITE_SINGLE_REGISTRY requests. Flushing the receive
buffer deals with this. At least one other Modbus implementations
implemens the same. I don't know whether this is mandated by the
Modbus specification or is a common workaround for broken clients.
