Closed Uncertainty elements as stand-alone elements

  • Uncertainty elements as stand-alone elements

  • Closed Issue created by Daniel Hutzschenreuter

At the moment the metadata models for uncertainty statements can only be used within the context of si:real, si:complex or si:list elements.

From various interested users of the D-SI data model, feedback was received that re-using the uncertainty models as stand-alone elements would be an advantage: E.g.:

    • Semantic based data structures like RDF or Turtle can build up data by interconnecting data types from different domains.
    • Advanced uncertainty statements based on fundamental uncertainty models
    • Stand-alone covariance matrix (issue #17 (closed))

    Suggested Changes

Adding the uncertainty related root elements

    • si:expandedUnc
    • si:coverageInterval
    • si:ellipsoidalRegion
    • si:rectangularRegion
    • si:covarianceMatrix

In addition, to further improve re-use of the element outside XML, each of the uncertainty elements is provided through a stand-alone type definition:

    • si:expandedUncType
    • si:coverageIntervalType
    • si:ellipsoidalRegionType
    • si:rectangularRegionType
    • si:covarianceMatrixType
